Gospel Ministries Center History

In August of 1997, Gospel Ministries began with a small group of people meeting in a home. They simply wanted to be a part of a church that “did something” for the kingdom. From that heart of ministry is where the name of our church came. Out of that humble beginning has come a wonderful church that absorbed itself in the ministry of Christ.

Our first ministry was to the children of Grand Junction, Colorado. In January of 1998, the church began a Kids Explosion that became the launching pad for a bus ministry. Children and Youth have been a mission field that God has called us into, and we are blessed to see that ministry continue to grow, with weekly programs, annual youth camps, and street ministry.

With the determination to minister came the blessing of God, and the doors began to open into other parts of the harvest field. The many in the valley that are living in assisted care were laid on our hearts and we began the rest home ministry that is currently reaching into several rest homes on a weekly basis. Soon God expanded our vision to the globe as we began to work in missions from Armenia, Mexico, Ethiopia, and to the Philippines. Doors were even opened to minister in some of the American Indian reservations here in America.

After 13 years of ministry, outreaches, and meeting in rented facilities all over the Grand Valley, God provided us with a permanent home at 1622 Glenwood Avenue. We are now moving forward into all open doors of ministry and discipleship with a greater capacity and vision for the future than every before.
